Terms of Use for BookmarkHub

Effective Date: January 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms By installing, accessing, or using the BookmarkHub browser extension (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by [Developer Name/Company Name] ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service The Service acts as a bridge to synchronize your browser bookmarks to your personal third-party storage providers (e.g., GitHub repositories or WebDAV servers).

  • BYO Storage (Bring Your Own Storage): We do not provide cloud storage for your bookmarks. You are responsible for configuring and maintaining your own GitHub account or WebDAV server.
  • Tool Usage: We provide the software tool to facilitate data transfer. We do not have control over, nor do we assume responsibility for, the content stored on your personal servers.

3. Accounts, Payments, and Security

  • Credential Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your GitHub Access Tokens, WebDAV credentials, and the email address used for verification (powered by Resend). We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your credentials.
  • Subscriptions: Premium features are billed and managed by our payment partner, Creem. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Creem's terms of service.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Unless required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable.

4. User Conduct You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or sync content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the extension.
  • Abuse or excessively query the GitHub API or WebDAV servers in a manner that degrades performance for others.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties (Read Carefully) THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

  • Data Integrity: While we strive for reliability, bookmark synchronization involves complex data operations. We do not guarantee that your data will be perfectly preserved in all scenarios (e.g., network failures, third-party API changes, or conflict resolution errors).
  • Backup Recommendation: You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to maintain independent backups of your browser bookmarks before using the sync features.
  • Third-Party Availability: We are not responsible for downtimes or issues caused by GitHub, WebDAV providers, Creem, or Resend.

6. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.

7. Changes to Terms We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Country/State], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
